Starting a new school year can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming.
New teachers. New routines. New classrooms. New faces.
For children and young people in out-of-home care, these worries often come with extra questions:
“Will I fit in?”
“Will I have the right things?”
“Will people notice I’m different?”
Something as simple as a brand-new school bag or a complete stationery pack might seem small, but for kids in care it can make a big difference. It can help them walk into school feeling proud, prepared and confident. It reminds them that they are supported, thought about and cared for, even when they might not always feel that way.
That’s why CASPA is incredibly grateful for the generous support of the Good Little Things Foundation, and their project partner, Mountain Blue Foundation, who donated 101 back-to-school packs for children and young people in our care.
Each carefully considered pack included:
- a high-quality school bagGood Little Things described their first-ever Packing Day beautifully:
“Small things. Big love. This is just the beginning.”
CASPA extends a huge thank you to the Good Little Things Foundation, Mountain Blue Foundation and the amazing volunteers who made this possible.
Small things truly can accumulate to create big change.
