Becoming a foster carer is a big decision. It is one of the most meaningful things you can do, but it can also be challenging. To thrive as a foster carer, you need the right support system around you. A team that gives you clear, practical guidance. And a community that understands journey and walks alongside you.
Why become a CASPA foster carer?
At CASPA, we believe that when our carers feel supported, they can better support the children in their care. This can lead to stronger placements and better outcomes for everyone.
Our model of care is built on safety, connection and growth. We work alongside you, giving you access to the tools, support and relationships you need need to build confidence, grow your skills and thrive alongside the young people in your care.
Free, supported & accessible accreditation
CASPA offers free foster carer accreditation, with online onboarding and training to guide you every step of the way.
Some carers move from first enquiry to accreditation in as little as six weeks, with support from a team that keeps things easy to understand.
An inclusive community
Children from all walks of life need carers from all walks of life.
CASPA welcomes carers and families regardless of age, relationship status, culture, gender identity or sexual orientation.
The support you need, all in one place
Foster care doesn’t exist in isolation. Children might need extra support to build safety, strengthen connections and grow.
With CASPA, you have access to wrap‑around services including:
🔸 Therapeutic support
🔸 Family services
🔸 Education pathways
🔸 Disability supports
You don’t need to manage referrals and appointments alone. We work together around the child and your family, so you can focus on what matters most: building a strong, safe relationship.
Training that builds your confidence
Caring for a child who has experienced trauma can be complex. Understanding how trauma affects the brain, and how to respond safely, is key to helping you thrive together.
CASPA provides ongoing training and support to help you understand behaviours, build safe relationships and respond with confidence. Training includes trauma and attachment, behaviour support and therapeutic approaches.
You can also access our Conscious Carer Hub on our website, a central place for resources, training and helpful links to guide your carer journey.
Real support, whenever you need it
When something happens outside business hours, you shouldn’t feel like you’re on your own.
CASPA carers have access to a dedicated After-Hours Support team, available when your caseworker isn’t, alongside regular check‑ins from your caseworker and the carer support team.
Our team understands every placement. We know the child's history, needs and behaviour support plans, so when you call, you're speaking to someone who knows your situation, not reading from a script.
Be a part of the CASPA village
Fostering can feel isolating without connection.
At CASPA, you are supported not only by a dedicated team, but also by a community of carers through the CASPA village. You can connect:
🔸Online
🔸At carer events
🔸Through carer mentoring
Experienced carers can also join our Carer Leadership Group to share ideas, support each other and help amplify the voices of carers across the sector.
Sometimes, the people who understand best are those who've walked the same path. Connecting with other carers give you a space to share, lean on each other, and to celebrate the wins, no matter how small.
Person‑first
At CASPA, we listen to and prioritise the needs of children, families and carers.
We work with people, not around them.
Your your voice is heard, your experience is valued and decisions are made together.
