When local Townsville rugby league Under 10 team, the Central Tigers reached out across the community for support so they could participate in the Gordon Tallis Cup, CASPA Services were happy to answer the call.
The Gorden Tallis Cup is about fun, family and football, offering a place for junior teams to develop their skills meeting with teams from across the state.
In all, the Central Tigers were one of 79 junior rugby league teams traveling from every corner of the state to the Townsville carnival held the last weekend of September.
While the carnival was a non-scoring event, the Centrals Tigers left it all on the field - competing in 9 games and taking unofficial wins for all but one match.
More important than the wins, was the experience the kids had training, coming together and playing together.
Team manager, Mel Anderson reports back that the boys had the best time and now have momentos and memories of the event for years to come.
Thanks to Mel and the other team volunteers for making this happen.
Well done Tigers!
