Last month CASPA Services hosted our Carer Conference in Yamba. The two day event was an opportunity for our Carers to come together with their families in a safe and supported environment.
Our Conference program was a mix of celebration, fun and learning with sessions run by our therapeutic and cultural teams, information stalls from My Forever Family, the Adoptions team from Department of Children and Justice, Out of Home Care Health, Sarah Armstrong Consulting and Summerland Credit Union, as well as a mix of family activities.
Some of the Carers’ favourite sessions included Emotional Regulation by our CASPA Therapeutic team, Family Bingo, the Wildlife Twins Show and Teen Trivia which was sponsored by Summerland Credit Union.
We also thank our wonderful donors who provided around $3000 in prizes.
This is an important event on the CASPA calendar and a chance for Carers to connect both with their wider support network within CASPA Services and with each other. Some of the Foster Care families attending the event shared their details and are planning to catch up later in the year.
This was our second ever Carer Conference and we were very proud to be able to give our Foster Carers and kids time to relax and enjoy themselves at a beautiful resort.
