Mark Butler brings extensive experience in executive leadership, clinical psychotherapy and workplace mental health to the CASPA Board. His career spans 25 years in senior corporate and commercial roles, followed by 15 years as a clinical psychotherapist, program developer and clinical director.
Mark works with leaders and organisations across Australia and internationally to strengthen workplace wellbeing, build leadership capability and create cultures where people feel safe, supported and valued. His expertise includes psychosocial risk, burnout prevention, trauma-informed practice and supporting teams through significant change.
His clinical background includes designing and delivering programs for people experiencing trauma, addiction and complex mental health challenges, including veterans and frontline responders. He holds master’s degrees in Addictive Behaviours and Gestalt Therapy and is a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
At CASPA, Mark chairs the Risk, Governance, Compliance and Quality Sub-Committee, bringing a people-centred perspective to organisational oversight and service quality. He also serves on the World Federation for Mental Health’s Workplace Section committee.
Mark’s contribution is grounded in a straightforward belief: caring for the people who deliver essential services strengthens the care, safety and opportunities available to the children, young people and families who rely on them.
