Family and carer support
Strengthening families, stabilising placements and supporting permanency
CASPA provides professional family and carer support services on a fee-for-service basis, working with statutory agencies to deliver supports that are reliable and accountable.
We provide flexible, practical supports that strengthen placement stability, improve family engagement and support restoration pathways.
All services are delivered with a clear outcomes focus and include professional documentation and reporting that meets the needs of statutory decision-making.
Family support
Everyone deserves to thrive
Your village gives you the time, support and resources you need to get through it. But what if you don’t have one? CASPA is dedicated to bridging the gap, and providing the village that every family needs to thrive.
When we provide informed, innovative care, we create safety and protection that leads to fewer young people entering care and results in lasting change to the quality of life of young people.
We see families maintained or restored, new opportunities for young people and spaces where children can experience stability, safety and love.
Supported families stay together
Who are family and carer supports for?
Our family and carer services support:
- Families who are at risk of their children being removed
- Families on restoration pathways
- Children and young people in out-of-home care
- Foster and kinship carers
- Children with trauma history, disability or complex needs
- Statutory agencies requiring contracted support
What services do family and carer supports provide?
CASPA provides support that helps prevent placement breakdown, assists carers under pressure and increases capacity in vulnerable families.
-
Supervised family time
Our bond with our biological family is one of the most important we’ll ever have. Therapeutic family time helps families rebuild trust and connection. Even if a child can’t safely return home, we support families in a safe space to strengthen their bond and sense of belonging.
-
In-home support
Not everyone has experienced safe parenting, which can make providing it challenging. CASPA provides in-home support to help parents learn these skills. From mentoring and respite, to help around the house, we help support families to create a safe, nurturing home.
-
Transport
CASPA has a wide range of transport services available for children, and, if necessary, their families. Our vehicles are serviced regularly, fully insured, and driven by our fully licensed team. We have multiple car seats and vehicle types to suit many different needs.
-
Mentoring
CASPA is committed to helping young people in out-of-home care build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive as adults. Through our mentoring service, we support them in reaching their goals and growing their independence. -
Carer training
Caring for children who have experienced trauma, disruption or loss can be challenging. CASPA delivers practical training to help carers understand trauma and respond with confidence. Our training supports safer homes and helps carers provide consistent, nurturing care.
-
Emergency & crisis support
When families are under pressure, early and practical support can prevent situations from escalating. CASPA provides responsive emergency and crisis support to help keep children safe and families supported during difficult moments.
